What is Feminine Energy?

Feminine energy is intuition, creation, flow, compassion, empathy, unconditional love. It’s those set of nurturing traits that connect human beings and it quite literally makes the world go ‘round.

The Law of Polarity is one of the 12 universal laws derived from an ancient culture. This particular law states that everything has duality, much like the positive and negative sides of a battery. In humans, the Law of Polarity can be evidenced in good and evil, happy and sad, or feminine and masculine.

In relationships, we often look at feminine energy and masculine energy. Feminine and masculine energies are always present in relationships, despite gender and sexual orientation. That’s right, a man can be in his feminine and a woman can be in her masculine, and the power dynamics are fluid and can change and shift.

Feminine vs Masculine

Masculine energy often points to the following traits:

  • Intellect/Logic
  • Action-oriented/Take Charge
  • Giving
  • Boldness
  • Protector
  • Provider
  • ”Making it Happen"

Feminine energy often points to the following traits:

  • Nurturing
  • Receiving
  • Flowing
  • Creativity
  • Softness
  • Intuitive
  • Feeling

How to be More Feminine

A lot of women who come to me do so because they’ve been resting in their masculine energy for so long. Because of the modern-day expectations on women–professionally and romantically–more and more women are in their masculine energy and attracting more and more men who are in their feminine. This puts both parties in a state of distress, raising cortisol and stress, and causing dis-ease.

Women can easily hone their feminine energy once they recognize what it is and where it’s been hiding. One way to do this is by incorporating certain actions into your daily feminine practice. Through dance, expression, pleasure, and creativity, a woman’s feminine energy will cause her to present differently in her life–in the board room and the bedroom and everywhere in between. Feminine energy is not to be confused with weakness–no! It is quite the opposite. Feminine energy is true strength. It is a quiet strength, and it is the necessary component in gaining the ability to influence others.

A woman who has honed her feminine essence is the equivalent of flies to honey. She is a magnet. A man cannot resist a woman who is resting in her feminine, who allows him to lead and do for her in their romantic relationship. She trusts him, and calmly knows that her intuition will guide her through life and she can surrender and trust herself.

A Real Example of Feminine Energy

Some people call feminine energy the “IT” factor. There’s a great story about Marilyn Monroe told by Amy Greene, the wife of Monroe’s personal photographer. It goes like this:

"I'll never forget the day Marilyn and I were walking around New York City, just having a stroll on a nice day. She loved New York because no one bothered her there like they did in Hollywood, she could put on her plain-jane clothes and no one would notice her. She loved that.

So as we we're walking down Broadway, she turns to me and says 'Do you want to see me become her?'

I didn't know what she meant but I just said 'Yes'- and then I saw it.

I don't know how to explain what she did because it was so very subtle, but she turned something on within herself that was almost like magic. And suddenly cars were slowing and people were turning their heads and stopping to stare. They were recognizing that this was Marilyn Monroe as if she pulled off a mask or something, even though a second ago nobody noticed her.

I had never seen anything like it before."
